CVI
Certificate of Veterinarian Inspection (CVI)
SHREWSBURY FACILITY ONLY - EFFECTIVE 1/21/2024 -
New Pennsylvania law mandates that all dog kennels in Pennsylvania, including Country Comfort Kennels at Shrewsbury, must have a valid Certificate of Veterinarian Inspection (CVI) on file for any pet arriving from out-of-state including Boarding and Daycare clients. The CVI must be issued by a licensed veterinarian not in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania within 60 days prior to your pet's entry into Pennsylvania.
As our Shrewsbury facility adheres strictly to these regulations, overseen by the Bureau of Dog Law Enforcement's Dog Wardens, it's essential for us to comply fully with this new requirement. Therefore, effective from January 21, 2024, we regretfully will be unable to accept any dogs crossing the state line, including those from Maryland, without a current CVI.
We understand that this may present an inconvenience and want to assure you that we are actively engaging with local and state representatives to explore possible exemptions for house-kept pets, like those under our care.
If you reside within Pennsylvania, this new legislation will not impact your reservations with us.
A CVI is NOT required for any boarding patrons at the Jarrettsville facility.
If you are unable to get your pet(s) into a vet's office by the time of your reservation, we would encourage you to use our Jarrettsville facility instead. We will be happy to transfer any deposits already paid.
